After tough contract negotiations, the Panthers have agreed to the following trade.

Panthers send Cam "Fig" Newton, Aaron Maybin, and Perry Riley to the Jets for the #3 and #99 picks, Geno Smith, Quinton Coples, and Demario Davis

Before this is approved... Jets, have you looked at your cap room and how Cam will fit in there along with the penalties you'll get from trading geno, et al?

I looked at it this afternoon after you (ent) pm'ed me. After the trade, along with money I have out on FA contracts, I am 3.5ish million over the cap. I tried to withdraw my offer to one FA but it won't give me the option. It says I don't have money to negotiate even though I've already negotiated. If we have to shine the trade due to cap issues, I understand. Cap space isn't something I had considered. Won't happen again. Whichever way you want to go with it, I'm fine with it. Just let me know.

Frum once we advance if you sign any FA it'll deduct that cap space and you'll have plenty of room. I think Xedo said you have $38 mil in space which is more than enough to accommodate the trade
