Oakland Raiders:Season In Review Empty Oakland Raiders:Season In Review

Post by ShockKing23 Fri Apr 25, 2014 6:22 pm

As the season comes to a close, I'd like to review the ups and downs, the heroes and the dissapointments, and the expectations for next season.

The team came into this season with tite aspirations. After trading back into the first round to take highly touted defensive end Evander Eatmon and bolstering an already quality team with multiple free agent signings like Ray Lewis, Charles Tillman, and Ben Tate, the Raiders seemed to be in line for a deep playoff run. After a hot start, disaster struck. Star quarterback Terrelle Pryor sustained a season ending injury. Rookie QB Orlan Lane came in to lead the Raiders to a Wildcard berth, only to fall to Miami. However, the team showed potential.

Awards:

DE Evander Eatmon-1 POTW/AFC DPOY/Pro Bowler/3rd in sacks

QB Orlan Lane-5x POTW/OPOY finalist/AFC OROY

RB Darren McFadden-1 POTW/MVP finalist/AFC OPOY/AFC Best RB/Pro Bowler

DT Jesse Williams-Pro Bowler

CB Charles Tillman-Pro Bowler

FS Brandon Hardin-Pro Bowler

Starting OLine-Pro Bowlers

Hopefully, next season will be the year. Run DMC and the winner of the QB competiton should be a dangerous core to the offense. On defense, the No Fly Zone hopes to come back strong and Eatmon looks to continue dominance. Thanks to Tony and Ent for running the league and Rox for adding awesome content to the league. Good luck next season to all 32 teams.
