League Draft Time Setup
I am shooting for the draft starting sometime Sunday night. The playoffs at the most should end on Tuesday as the schedule I sent everyone laid out, at least one conference championship game is being played on Monday and I hope the other will also be played then or earlier. We've done well sticking to the schedule closely
It could be a tight fit to achieve this goal of Sunday, but it's going to be the one we shoot for as it is unlikely we will be able to get anymore people on a weekday than a weekend.
Please reply to this thread with your expected time availability on Saturday and Sunday. (I.E. I can do it 5-6 on Saturday, 5-10 on Sunday)
If Saturday turns out to be the best option we can shave hours off various stages leading up to the draft to be ready for that.
I hope everyone will reply in due time, but I will proceed with hashing out a time as soon as 15 people (over half the league) reply.

Does this mean 12:01 AM to 11:59 PM each day?
Re: League Draft Time Setup
I'm thinking sunday night would probably be the one where most people are available, including myself.

Re: League Draft Time Setup
I'm available all day, every day on the weekend. I just hope we can start the draft somewhat early-ish so I don't have to be up too late.

I would rather delay it than have some people miss out.

I vote for Saturday or delay so that everyone can make it.

Re: League Draft Time Setup
There is no timely delay that I can see to provide a time for everyone to be available.
Ent and Xedo normally work through the late night and into the early morning on weekdays.
Mille & Synopsis work/are unavailable until 8 on most/all weekdays.
The late availability of those latter two are important because it causes poor Rox to be up easily past 3 am just to start the draft (I'm assuming roughly an hour to get home, ready, etc). Not something he hasn't done before and basically does every day this offseason, but it's much more of an inconvenience than scheduling on the weekend where that number can be dropped even slightly to 2 am, maybe as low as midnight.
It also shows that no less than 2 people will be cut off whether it goes early in the day to facilitate the late night workers or late in the day to consider the '9-5' workers. As we fill in the rest of the league's normal work schedules or other obligations I'm sure we'd find even more issues cropping up.
Regardless of what day we choose of those two currently on hand, Saturday and Sunday, we have built in absences of Gross, Baby AllStar, and Mr.
It's one more person as a built-in loss than the theorized 2 in a delay, but it's also based on more information than a sample size information packet of five.
4 people have Sunday chosen as the only day they want to do it of the two days provided.
2 people have chosen Saturday as the only day they want to though one did mention that they possibly have Sunday time it is nothing to bank on.
8 people have stated that they are available either day to participate.
If we sum up the totals we get:
Sunday | -3 (Sunk Costs) + -2 (Sa-Only) + 4 (S-Only) + 8 (Anytizers) = Net 7
Saturday | -3 (Sunk Costs) + -4 (S-Only) + 2 (Sa-Only) + 8 (Anytizers) = Net 3
Delay | -3 (Sunk Costs) + Currently Unknown = -3 + ?????
No scenario comes without a cost built in. In fact, across all 3 scenarios there is an indiscriminate price to pay, the sunk cost common to every means of action. In the first two examples the sunk cost is Gross and co. In the last example the sunk costs are the losses of Ent and Xedo + the inconvenience of Rox. That's 3 straight across the board. We just don't know, hence the unknown in the equation, what could come as a result of of a delay, but we know we aren't necessarily better off in a delay given the sunk costs involved in each equation. More information could help alleviate this, but one must also note that this course of action (delaying) is not taken into consideration with respect to the cumbersome slowing down of the league as one delay may well turn into another in the hope of trying to facilitate everyone. Regardless of this rolling it's a delay as a basic level, assuming we try and play with 3 extra days, it akin to half a week's advance cycle, which brings us ever closer to a dangerously narrow margin between season 3 end and new madden coming out.
The overriding point is that it's going to be very improbable to the point it is nearly impossible to find a ground that is even for all, but we're going to try and and get as close to one as possible. Staying the course makes the road clear; We go on Sunday. It's the best case scenario, clearly, with a net result of 7 compared to a 2 and a -3 + Unknown.
Hopefully more people will come in to bring their schedule this weekend as it's a very real possibility with only a little over half the league weighing in that this result is changed more in favor of Saturday with time.
