New Chargers Front Office Shaking Things Up
After serving time in other leagues as a dynamic duo, GM Al Bundy and Coach Matt Morrow took time off from league play to try their hands at coaching High School Football at Al's old school, Polk High. Seeing the school fall on hard times, Bundy was convinced he could turn things around as an assistant coach alongside Morrow. After berating his less than talented players with a barrage of women's shoes, Bundy and Morrow find themselves back in league play working together on the San Diego Chargers, a team with a ton of cap room and some talented players.
The Chargers over the past two days have made a ton of trades in order to shape the team in Bundy and Morrow's image. The team will be switching from the 3-4 to a 4-3 defense, though the defense will have some hybrid tendencies at times. Many players have switched positions through the scheme change, and seem excited about new opportunities to produce in new roles. Most notably Melvin Ingram moves to defensive end, and the team has brought in championship experience in Cliff Avril from the Seahawks. However Donald Butler will still lead the team at MLB, and Manti Teo will team with him at an OLB position. The secondary was bolstered in a big way in Logan Ryan, who was the lynchpin in the Chargers giving up their #8 overall selection.
When asked about that trade, Bundy stated that team picking up three valuable pieces in Ryan, WR Aaron Dobson, and RB Jerick Mckinnon, outweighed a young rookie who they haven't scouted much of anyways. "We currently have picks 30 and 40, and that's good for us because we'll take the best players on the board regardless of need." Bundy stated. "When you're at #8, yes you may get a better player, but you HAVE to be right, and we haven't done the scouting to be in that absolute position."
Offensively the Chargers will ride with QB Philip Rivers, but don't rule out a change there. Rivers is in the last year of his deal and would be a huge cap savings if the Chargers decided to part ways. The rest of the offense is a mystery at this point, with the Chargers not having a ton of players under contract on that side of the ball. However, no matter what the Chargers do WR Keenan Allen figures to be a huge part of the equation. Longtime TE Antonio Gates was cut recently, and young TE Ladarius Green was sent to the Titans for the #30 pick overall in the first round. It will be interesting to see what the Chargers do offensively in the end.
The Chargers will see who agrees to sign with them tonight at 8:00 pm prior to the NFL Draft kicking off. Those signings will go a long way in shaping the roster, so hold on Chargers fans, this exciting roller coaster ride of deals from this dynamic duo appears to be just getting started!

Lol thanks, he's always been my GM in leagues over the past couple of seasons. I've done pretty well so I stick with it...
