[Updated 7/12] Vikings Trade Block Empty [Updated 7/12] Vikings Trade Block

This is an updated list of the Vikings trade list. This is a bigger update but may or may not be finalized list. There have also been other moves as with the placements within the list. This list has also implemented tier leveling of players but if course this varies depending on your team's need and wants, it is just a basic outline of players trade worthiness.

Tier-I of trades list:

LG Jeff Baca- age 26, ovr 81 ( actually could be a starter or maybe has the potential to be one but you might not want him to be. He should be ranked in next tier at least but decided to have a good option in tier I)
RG Travis Bond- age 25 , ovr 76
DT Fred Evans-  age 32, ovr 76
MLB Jamar Chaney- age 29, ovr 74

Tier - II:

LE Frank Alexander- age 26, ovr 76 ( shows a good balance of both rush and run stop)
WR Dexter McCluster- age 28, ovr 75 ( great return guy option)
CB Ron Parker- age 26, ovr 83 ( pretty good in both man and zone coverage,  also good at tackling but isn't an ideal quick corner even though has good speed.)
QB Alex Smith- age 32, ovr 85 ( A bit of a surprise here huh, well you know the man,  his story, and what he can do, the question is can he lead a team to win a superbowl? Is probably better than any other option compared to FA for the price. )

Tier III:

TE Ed Dickson- age 29, ovr 83 ( A interesting option in the passing game but isn't your best option in running game.  Starter quality that could be considered a threat in passing game under right circumstances. )
WR Ryan Swope- age 25, ovr 81 ( Ryan has shown to be reliable and explosive on the outside and in the slot. He might be more ideal to playing 3rd reciever or in the slot but can fit on the outside too.  The best part is that he is getting better all the time and wouldn't be a surprise to see him be a teams number 2 guy maybe even number 1 at season's end. )
SS Marcus Gilchrist- age 27, ovr 83 ( Marcus has a bit of a under performing reputation,  while this may be a little true from his past examples, it seems to be he has turned it around. His playing ability has increased and we believe he can be a teams playmaking safety, it's just he doesn't exactly fit our scheme and he suits better in a 3-4 defense.  We just don't know if we are going in the same direction)

Tier IIII :
FS Desi Vallere- age 24, ovr 82 ( This kid is a playmaker now! What he lacks in ratings he makes up for in playing ability,  now this doesn't mean his ratings are bad it's just that he is more of a bruising safety instead of a speed safety. He is good in coverage but he just lacks a little on the speed side.  He is also more comfortable in a 3-4 defense. )
RE Terrell Suggs-age 33, ovr 86 ( One of the league's premier pass rushers for the past decade or so.  Yes this does mean he is on a slow decline but his decline is another man's very good.  Plus his price reflects decline players average.  Any team would be getting a good player here but their offer must show that too. )
RT Phil Loadholt-age 30, ovr 86 ( Phil has put his work in and he deserves to be a team's sarting right tackle.  He is great in the running game and pretty good in passing game.  His leadership qualities or locker room presence is just as high if not higher than his playing ability. He is somewhat expensive cap wise but he is worth it if you need a RT)

Tier IV:
WR Cordarrelle Patternson- age 25, ovr 91 ( He is a superstar receiver worthy of being a number 1 receiver.  Good cap positioning for his skill level.  To the team's that are interested, you have seen him play,  you have seen him make plays but you have not seen all that he can do.  He is going to be easily in the top 10 receivers in the league, if he isn't considered there already. Your offers will have to be reflective of these factors. )

Our interest:
LB'S,RG,CB,Safeties, Draft picks,  or best offer.

If you are interested in these players,  please go ahead and post what you think is a fair or good trade.  You can also look into my roster to see if anyone in particular that I did not mention here interest you or use them to sweeten up a deal.

[Updated 7/12] Vikings Trade Block Empty Vikings update

Post by MacksterMatt Mon Jul 14, 2014 3:21 pm

Late last night the Colts and Vikings made trade involving CB Philip Adams (a player we had just received earlier that day from another trade) and RT Phil Loadholt. As we stated before, Phil is a hard worker and good leader and we had acknowledged that he wanted to be traded to a team as their starter and a team he wanted to make a difference on,we believe the Colts are that team. We wish Phil and his new team the best for their new partnership. Other news coming from the Vikings, We have released MLB McCarthy due to Cap reasons and we have picked up 3 FA signings in the first week of FA. We would also like to reiterate some of the players on the trade list and maybe some of the things we are looking for in exchange.

Terrell Suggs- If he fits your scheme 3-4 pass rush for LB or 3-4/4-3 pass rush for DL then his ovr is about 86-87, has 1 year left on contract with low cap. Our primary want for this trade would be either late 1st round pick to a early 3rd round pick, depending what is proposed we would also want another starting caliber player that fits our needs and a player for depth.

TE Ed Dickson- Teams in need or looking for a TE should take a look here. Yes his cap is a little higher than what you might see in FA but that's for lower leveled options, who may only be okay at one thing. Now he isn't great at run blocking but he is more than capable to do so but is pretty good in the passing game. We would be looking to get a lower ranged draft pick 5th round to the 7th round pick here but if you offer a 6th or 7th we may also want a player for depth or we could do a straight up player for player trade were both sides gain a serviceable player.

SS Marcus Gilchrist- Teams who need a safety for depth or starting purposes, Gilchrist can fill those shoes. His cap is what makes be able to be either a bench/role player or starter since its pretty low but his ability dictates that he should be a starter. If you compare to what is available in FA he is probably one of the best options you can find. Would be considered top 3 in FA for SS but has lower cap than the others. If cap isn't an issue and you can find your best available option SS then go for it but if Cap is an issue or if you can't grab the top available SS then Gilchrist is probably your best bet. There's a major drop off at the skill level at SS in this years draft from 1st round to not until 3rd round, this info has us placing him at a value for 3rd round pick since he more of a sure thing for your starting option than taking a chance on a rookie to start for you. We would also field other offers for players but our interest isn't as high for that type of deal for him.

WR Cordarrelle Patternson- A first round pick is basically necessary here, maybe even multiple high round picks depending on what else you can offer. Is a top tier receiver with extremely low cap that enables you to use that cap else were. His "negatives" that we have heard from potential offers is low rte, cit, cth ( all at 81) but those aren't super low at all. If he was your only option then it could be a concern but since his cap is so low it lets you to be able to find another offensive threat/weapon, that is if you don't already have one. So you could find another guy who is better in those ratings or whatever suits your fancy. You would be getting a Superstar on a rookie deal, so the expectations for this offer seem rightfully just, especially when you compare him to other Superstar receivers or unproven rookies. We will be looking for really good offers here from teams that are interested.

[Updated 7/12] Vikings Trade Block Empty Vikings Update.

Post by MacksterMatt Tue Jul 15, 2014 10:29 pm

Just before the final period of FA comes to the end within the hour, the Vikings wanted to update on yesterdays headlines. The team picked up double the FA's with a total of 6, with the attention grabber in CB Boykin. Boykin quoted " I really am excited to play for the purple and gold." "The team just feels like it suits my style and I feel like I can make a real contribution here." The team also released TE Ed Dickson later that night in a move to make more cap room. We are now anxious to see how the final period of FA will work out and see the new faces of the team arrive here in Minnesota. The anticipation for the Draft is also on the horizon and we can not wait for that either.
